RIL commenced its business in the late 1940’s as a supplier of fastenings to the Indian railways under the name Ramchander Heeralaal Limited. The company initially produced its products at a single location in eastern India, Kolkata.

Ever since its inception RIL has embarked on a journey of continuous growth & development, expanding its production base to southern India, Hyderabad in 2005. In its pursuit for expansion Rahee also ventured into the field of Steel fabrication, manufacturing & erecting steel girders for bridges in the same year.
